Betablog

Fucking unbelievable. I switched to Betablog, after reading all about it and the many benefits promised by Blogger. They neglected to mention that once I had switched, I would no longer be able to post a comment on any non-beta blogs. Thanks for telling me, you bastards! Apparently, that "feature" is "coming soon". What a load of bullshit.

Hi Phu,

Can’t leave a comment on your bloog either, as I’m not a Beta user. Also, your blog is not on your profile...

Fuff

Dude, that's terrible. I haven't switched because I gather it sucks up all your HTML template editing opportunities and shits them out into the back-end of cyberspace.

I hate this whole "beta" thing - it's totally out of control. It means 'they' can launch half-baked products and can explain away bugs by saying, "Yeah sucker, it's beta, so fuck off."

I'm not even sure what that means, but it sounds terrible.

I've been suckered!

Fuff - thanks for pointing that out, maybe I can get the profile thing fixed.

Bollocks.

I'm not surprised at the cockup. We are living in times where being 'specifically professional' is synonymous with being 'generally stupid' - the true meaning of being a 'graduate'.(unless of course one is studied in a generally critical field.)

And about this beta thing. It generally means that we suggest improvements whilst they, when the finalised product is finally improved and ready, appropriate the fruits of our intellectual labour and make a ton and a half out of it. So much for respecting intellectual property eh?

So this beta thing is the result of bloggers' suggested improvements?

Well they've certainly missed out a lot of things, and cocked up a lot as well.

For instance, when I try to post a comment on this blog (it's practically the only blog I can without being anonymous) I sometimes have to sign in every time. Even if I have signed in to post a previous comment just moments before.

If I could switch the entire contents of my blog to a different service provider altogether I would be tempted.
